three autumn poems
astonished that you exist (2023)
Autumn haiku Baby’s on the tit The golden leaves are falling One day at a time . Another autumn poem This glimmering sleepless season hot blue sky rotting pumpkins long shadows, crows. I blink & the baby grows. . Another another autumn poem I wake every day astonished That you exist (imperfectly, you remind me) That this orange-haired child is ours (improbably, on every front) That I’ve survived at all, a wake of skins shed behind me. That the days can be so precious and so hard. How suddenly the leaves turn red. .

This made me think of my son, and how I still struggle to take it all in
This kind of writing feels like a hand on the shoulder during the long, quiet seasons of change. Thank you.
